This October and November, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) is set to enthral audiences once more. The two concerts – Halloween Spooktacular And The Nutcracker – are sure to entertain audiences at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS.
On Saturday, 29 October 2022 at 8:30 pm, join the MPO and Resident Conductor Naohisa Furusawa on the scariest night of the year for a bubbling cauldron full of spooky classical favourites! Themed Halloween Spooktacular, a most symphonic Halloween party awaits as the MPO performed some of the spookiest tunes ever made such as Mark Snow’s X-Files Main Theme, Andrew Llyod Webber’s Phantom of the Opera, Jerry Goldsmith’s Poltergeist: The Calling and many more. So, mark your calendar and let these eerie selections of music send shivers up your spine!
In November, travel to the Land of Sweets with Clara and her prince as the MPO present Tchaikovsky’s endearing festive favourite, The Nutcracker! Naohisa Furusawa returns to the podium to lead the MPO on Saturday, 5 November 2022 at 8:30 pm. From the enchanting Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy to exotic offerings from around the world, the music of Tchaikovsky’s beloved ballet evokes winter wonders and the joys of the holiday season. The concert will also feature ballet performance from Ballet Theatre Malaysia.
