AXN delivers a dark and action-packed fantasy thriller from the Marvel universe with Morbius. The premiere gives movie and comic book fans a taste of one of Spiderman’s most iconic supervillains. From the producers that brought us Blade, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Venom, and Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, Morbius, is an introduction to the studio’s standalone genre characters from its Marvel cannon.
The movie stars Academy Award winner, Jared Leto, in his most transformative role as he brings the original story of Michael Morbius to life, about a brilliant doctor who attempts to cure his rare blood disorder but eventually morphs into a blood thirsting vampire with animalistic impulse, echolocation capabilities, and superhuman strength and abilities, as he fights his nemesis who shares the same powers as him.
Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House, Child 44, Life), Morbius, is filled with cutting-edge CGI fight and action scenes but also brings audiences back to the origins of Michael Morbius through his youth. What have kept fans talking about are the various Easter eggs that occasionally appear in different scenes to give reference to other Marvel movies that keeps one guessing if it’s all interconnected.
The appearance of a Marvel villain in the post-credit scenes poses questions if a potential sequel with characters from other Marvel universe is in the making. Morbius premieres on Sunday 13 November at 9.45pm on AXN Asia (Astro Ch 701 HD | unifi TV Ch 453) the leading English-language general entertainment channel.
