Good news for fans of Mission: Impossible because Ethan Hunt and his IMF gang are due to return to the big screen in 2021 and 2022 respectively. Tom Cruise will be back in the saddle, likely with more death-defying stunt work, as is Director Christopher McQuarrie who will write and direct both Mission: Impossible 7 and Mission: Impossible 8.
Both films are set to be filmed back-to-back in order to keep their summer release dates. Much is expected from the film, which is being produced by Paramount Pictures. Mission: Impossible- Fallout, the most recent instalment grossed nearly USD800 million at the box-office, making it the franchise’s most successful film yet.
Production will most likely begin later this year, following Cruise’s work on the sequel to Top Gun, which is currently being filmed.
