Warner Bros is dead set on a sequel for Man of Steel 2 and they’re apparently looking at Matthew Vaughn to helm the production. Man of Steel delivered solid returns for Warner but it was largely panned by critics. Still the film nevertheless not only warranted a sequel but also set the tone and setting for the DC cinematic universe.
As we saw in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and soon to be released Justice League, Superman is still a pivotal part of the DC superhero universe at Warner Bros. Now the big wigs are looking to continue with the Man of Steel franchise with a sequel and they’re looking at Vaughn to possibly helm the film.
The director is certainly a good choice and is familiar with the superhero universe having directed several flicks in the genre himself over the years. Along with X-Men: First Class and Kick-Ass, Vaughn also brought to life Kingsman: The Secret Service and is now putting the finishing touches to the sequel to that film as well.
This isn’t the first time Vaughn has been linked to a Superman film as the director was reportedly in the running to helm a Superman project in 2010. Although that didn’t materialise, this time around Vaughn may have a good chance to put his own take on the Man of Steel saga.
