Martin Scorsese is back with a brand new film and this time around the director is tackling a genre not in his wheelhouse. As the Killers Of The Flower Moon trailer showcase, the Academy-Award winning director is at the helm of his first western.
Based on David Grann’s broadly lauded best-selling book, the film is set in 1920s Oklahoma and depicts the serial murder of members of the oil-wealthy Osage Nation, a string of brutal crimes that came to be known as the Reign of Terror.
Directed by Martin Scorsese from a screenplay by Eric Roth and Scorsese, the film sees Robert De Niro portraying William Hale, a cattle rancher that is suspected of organising the hits on the wealthy members of the Osage tribe. Leonardo DiCaprio takes the lead as Ernest Burkhart, Hale’s nephew who struggles with the conflict of loyalty between his powerful and uncle and his Osage wife.
Rounding up the cast of the film are Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion, John Lithgow and Brendan Fraser. Hailing from Apple Studios, Killers of the Flower Moon was produced alongside Imperative Entertainment, Sikelia Productions and Appian Way.
