Wolverine 3 is set to be Hugh Jackman’s last run as the popular X-Man and it may well be Liev Schreiber’s last romp as Sabretooth as well. During the recent Oscars, the actor told MTV news that there were talks between him and the studio.
“We talked about it. I don’t know. He’s mentioned it to me. The Old Man Logan story — that’s appealing,” said Schreiber. “That’s something that I can do. Old, being the operative word.”
Wolverine 3 is set to be directed by James Mangold and if Schreiber were to appear in the film, it would mark his second appearance as Logan’s arch-nemesis. The actor portrayed Sabretooth in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Although Schreiber’s participation is currently up in the air, one major name from the X-Men franchise has been confirmed for Wolverine 3. Patrick Stewart who plays Professor X will reprise his role in the sequel, which is set for release in March 2017.
