Admittedly we love automotive biopics because they focus on one of our favourite things – cars. Ford vs Ferrari, talked about the rivalry between the two giants, which led the way to the creation of the Ford GT40. This year we will see the story of how a legendary sports car brand was created in Lamborghini: The Man Behind The Legend.
The film is based on the book written by Tonino Lamborghini, the son of Ferruccio. Lamborghini: The Man Behind the Legend is from Lionsgate films and is not the only automotive biopic coming out. Also in production is the story of Ferrari, which is directed by Michael Mann with Adam Driver portraying Enzo Ferrari.
That said, it’s the story of Lamborghini that is heading our way first. The film tells the story of how an intense rivalry between Ferruccio Lamborghini and Enzo Ferrari ultimately created the legendary supercar brand. Featuring Oscar winners Mira Sorvino and the screenwriter of Crash, this thrilling, high-speed biopic tells the story of genius auto inventor Ferruccio Lamborghini (Frank Grillo, Kingdom, Boss Level).
All his life Ferruccio has dreamed of beating his long-time rival Enzo Ferrari (Gabriel Byrne, War of the Worlds) — and the upcoming Geneva grand prix could be his chance to blow past Ferrari for good. But can Ferruccio get his untested vehicle prepped for victory with the competition just months away? The race is on!
