Knives Out was one of the pleasant surprises of 2019. The murder mystery film rekindled moviegoers’ love affair with a humorous and engaging whodunit story. Directed by Rian Johnson, audiences wanted more and Netflix was quick to capitalise by greenlighting a Knives Out sequel.
Now the streamer has officially revealed the title of its upcoming Knives Out sequel. Daniel Craig is reprising his role as detective Benoit Blanc in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. The mystery murder tale is set to premiere on the streamer this holiday season.
Like the first film, Glass Onion is also boasting an ensemble cast. Craig is once again taking the lead as Blanc, a role he fits like a glove. Joining him in this new mystery are Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, with Kate Hudson and Dave Bautista.
Rian Johnson returns to helm the Knives Out sequel, which follows Detective Blanc as he journeys to Greece. It’s refreshing to see the confines of the story move to a new international location. But there’s no doubt despite the new setting, we can expect Blanc to peel back the layers of this mystery involving a new cast of colourful suspects.
Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery streams on Netflix this December. Check out the announcement here.
