Fans of Planet of the Apes will be glad to have a new story to look forward to. Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes sees director Wes Ball (the Maze Runner trilogy) take over the reins of the series from Matt Reeves with a new tale.
Continuing the series, Ball breathes new life into the global, epic franchise set several generations in the future following Caesar’s reign. Continuing the storyline, the apes are now the dominant species living harmoniously and humans have been reduced to living in the shadows.
As a new tyrannical ape leader builds his empire, one young ape undertakes a harrowing journey that will cause him to question all that he has known about the past and to make choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
From 20th Century Studios, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes stars Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon and William H. Macy. Check out the trailer for the film below for a first look at the film before it hits cinemas in May 2024.
