The superhero genre is coming to the World Wide Web, this time in a shortform animated series produced by Machinima. Marking a first collaborative effort between Warner Bros. and the company, Machinima will create a digital series titled Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles.
The digital series will apparently be based on the Justice League: Gods and Monsters, which is an original animated film produced by Warner Bros. animation due out in 2015. It is said that Chronicles will be an alternate take on the DC Universe where darker versions of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman exist.
It is speculated that Justice League: Gods and Monsters Chronicles will serve as a precursor to its longform accompaniment with web episodes set to debut months before Justice League: Gods and Monsters is finally released in Spring 2015. Well, at least there’s something to keep our appetites satiated before Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits cinemas a year later.
