Jason Statham is no stranger to action flicks and the occasional creature feature but now he tackles a unique story in The Beekeeper. Directed by David Ayer (Suicide Squad, Fury), the film is described as a fast-paced action-thriller.
‘Expose the corruption. Protect the hive’, reads the tagline of the film’s poster. The film revolves around one man’s brutal campaign for vengeance, which takes on national stakes after he is revealed to be a former operative of a powerful and clandestine organization known as “Beekeepers.”
The film represents the latest offering from the British action star’s long list of films. Statham recently appeared in Meg 2: The Trench and the fourth instalment of the Expendables. He is also expected to reprise his role of Deckard Shaw in Fast X: Part 2.
Written by Kurt Wimmer, The Beekeeper sees Statham in good company. Starring alongside the actor are Emmy Raver-Lampman, Josh Hutcherson, Bobby Naderi, Minnie Driver, with Phylicia Rashad and Jeremy Irons.
The Beekeeper from MGM Studios is scheduled to hit cinemas in mid-January 2024. Check out the trailer below.
