The production wheels of the new Justice League movie are moving forward with the addition of J.K. Simmons. The Academy Award winning actor will portray Commissioner Gordon in the film, which adds to the star power of the DC ensemble project.
This isn’t the first time Simmons has lent his name to a comic book project. He previously starred a Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy playing Daily Bugle publisher, J. Jonah Jameson. It will be interesting to see what the actor brings to the table with his performance and how it differs from past actors such as Pat Hingle and Gary Oldman who have taken on the character.
Justice League is due to begin production fairly soon as it’s been scheduled for release in November 2017. The second part of the film is due June 2019. Simmons will join the likes of Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Amy Adams, Jason Momoa, and Ray Fisher in the film.
