After making its world premiere at the 27th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) last October, Indonesian horror series, Teluh Darah will finally arrive on OTT. Starting 25 February, the brand new horror series, will be available for audiences in Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, and Philippines thanks to Disney+ Hotstar.
As the only series from Southeast Asia to screen at BIFF as part of the festival’s On Screen program, there has been significant hype about the show. Teluh Darah marks the first series from the thriller and horror specialist Kimo Stamboel.
The 10-part, 45 minutes per episode series will follow Wulan and Esa, two young people from different families whose lives collide after a black magic attack. Driven to protect their families at all costs, Wulan and Esa cooperate to find out who is responsible and hold them to account.
Mikha Tambayong, Deva Mahenra, Lukman Sardi, Imelda Therinne, Justin Adiwinata, Maryam Supraba, Shenina Cinnamon, and Taskya Namya are stars of the series. The Rapi Films production is directed by Kimo Stamboel and written by Agasyah Karim, Khalid Kashogi, and Bayu Kurnia Prasetya.
The arrival of the series on the Disney streamer further boosts the presence of content from Southeast Asia filmmakers.
