Fans of the 1986 Sci-fi thriller Aliens will want to get their hands on this limited edition time piece by Seiko. The Aliens watch which was worn by Ellen Ripley played by Sigourney Weaver is set to be reproduced in limited numbers by Japanese watchmaker, Seiko. According to the recent release, the reissue will involve 6000 models to be made, all of which will be modelled after the timepiece Ripley wore in the film.
The Seiko Aliens watch dubbed the Seiko Giugiaro 7A28-7000, was designed by famed auto designer Giorgetto Giugiaroto, and was also the first to employ an analogue quartz chronograph movement. The time piece is set to be sold in two colours grey and black, which will retail for USD260 and USD292 respectively.
The reissue of the timepiece is said to tie in with the film’s upcoming 30th anniversary. In related Alien news, director Ridley Scott is returning to direct Alien: Covenant, the sequel to the 2012 sci-fi thriller Prometheus. This follow-up, is said to have elements that will eventually reconnect the series to the original sci-fi horror classic.
