Monaco Film Festival 2018 - PosterFollowing the success of Asia’s first Monaco Film Festival held in Singapore last year, the Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority has chosen the thriving city of Hong Kong for its 2018 edition.

The Principality of Monaco will welcome festival-goers in a year-end cinematic celebration of the city-state’s notorious glamour, rich history and stunning Mediterranean landscapes from 1 to 16 December 2018 at Emperor Cinemas (Entertainment Building), with fringe events including exhibitions, galas and parties planned around the city.

In line with Visit Monaco’s “Green is the new Glam” campaign—which reflects the Principality’s commitment to become fully carbon neutral by 2050—Monaco Film Festival will work with partners and sponsors that promote sustainability in Hong Kong and beyond.

Movie buffs can expect a spectacular selection of films shot in and around Monaco through past decades to present day—from vintage classics such as “To Catch a Thief” (1956) starring the iconic Hollywood-turned-Monaco royalty Grace Kelly, to modern-day documentary “Monaco: Back to the Future” (2017) highlighting the Principality’s longstanding pursuit of ground breaking technologies in the last 100 years.

A selection of vintage film posters from the National Archives of Monaco will be showcased highlighting the rich history of cinema in Monaco dating back to the 1930s.

The full programme of the film festival and further information can be found here. Tickets can now be booked at the Emperor Cinemas box offices and the online at the official website as well as its mobile app.
