AXN’s top-rated action series, Hawaii Five-0 is celebrating its landmark 200th episode this week, with a plot twist that sees the Five-0 gang heading back in time to 1940s Hawaii, via a dream sequence.
“It’s definitely a departure episode,” said Alex O’Loughlin whose character McGarrett is tasked with investigating a cold case from the 1940s, one that famous Honolulu detective Chang Apana and his own grandfather couldn’t solve. In the episode, O’Loughlin will play both McGarrett and his grandfather, as they try to crack the unsolved case.
“This season is our best season so far,” executive producer Peter Lenkov revealed. “Our stories are so diverse and different, and we are really diving into the new characters. We have a fantastic and very different 200th episode that I think our fans will enjoy.”
O’Loughlin added, “Nine years is a long time to do something and the fact that we can keep showing up and deliver what I hope is relatively fresh material is kind of a big deal.”
Fan favourite Jorge Garcia will also make his appearance in the retro episode as Officer Mike Flanagan who plays a pivotal role in putting all the pieces together.
“So far it’s been really fun for me. My character is more involved with the Five-0 team. Our 200th episode is really cool – we’ve gone back in time and I get to play a new character, so that’s kind of fun.”
Catch Hawaii Five-0’s 200th episode on Tuesday, November 13 at 7.15pm; with a series of encores throughout the week. AXN is available on Astro Ch 701 and 721.
