Come 1 July 2020, Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) and Aurum Theatre will finally reopen its doors to the public after a three-month long hiatus, bringing its brand of enriching cinema experiences back to eager movie lovers across the nation.

The reopening will be preceded by enhanced safety measures and precautions that GSC will take as part of its commitment to safeguard the health and well-being of customers. Additionally, there will also be a host of offerings, deals and treats for customers to enjoy in both cinemas with promotions and discounts.

    Contactless From Start To Finish
In view of safety concerns, GSC will be incorporating operational changes that will provide customers a safe and contactless journey from the moment they arrive at the cinema. These are some of the safety measures that customers can expect when they return to GSC and Aurum.

Buying of Tickets and Combos Online through the GSC Mobile App (available on Android and iOS) or visit GSC’s website.

Digital Declaration Forms for Contact Tracing. When movie-goers arrive at GSC or Aurum to catch their favourite movie, they are required to scan a QR code at the entrance and complete a digital declaration form. In the absence of a smartphone, customers may fill out a log book manually.

Temperature Checks. All guests will be required to have their temperature taken before admission into the cinema premises. Guests with temperatures 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher will not be allowed into the cinema and will be reimbursed accordingly if they had purchased a ticket online prior.

Collect, scan, & enjoy the movie. Upon entering the cinema, customers who have purchased their food combos online may collect them at the concessions counters and admit themselves into the hall by scanning their ticket’s QR code at the auto-gates.

    Additional Safety Practices
GSC is also implementing enhanced cleaning and safety measures to give cinema-goers a peace of mind. Customers can rest assured that all amenities, facilities, and public spaces have been properly cleaned, sanitised, and cared for to provide a safe and worry-free cinematic experience.

Prior to reopening, every GSC and Aurum Theatre location has undergone a thorough cleaning of all its spaces, halls, and facilities including restrooms, e-kiosks, countertops, door handles, lift buttons, handrails, and escalators, among others.

Halls will be regularly cleaned and disinfected after every show with social distancing and crowd control maintained throughout the facility via queue markers.

Furthermore, cinema halls will implement gap seating with audiences seated one chair apart from others on the left and right, as well as front and back. This is also extended to social spaces including cafés, restaurants, and Jin Gastrobar.

All GSC employees will also be subjected to temperature checks before they begin their shifts. Additionally, the wearing of face masks will be enforced to ensure that all employees are well-protected to serve. While guests are not required to wear a mask, they are recommended to don one whenever they are out and moving around public areas.

Cleanliness and hygiene are key during this time, and both GSC and Aurum will have hand sanitisers placed throughout the cinema for customers to use. These hand sanitisers will be placed in many common areas including the Box Office ticketing counters, concessions, and checkpoints.

    Added Value
To celebrate its reopening, GSC will have a host of promotions for customers to enjoy when they come back to the cinema to rediscover the joy of the big screen.

In GSC, catch Jumanji: The Next Level for free or watch re-runs of your favourite summer blockbuster movies like Spider-Man: Far from Home, Venom, and more from as low as RM5. To complete the cinematic experience, GSC is also offering fresh food & beverage combos from RM8.

If you are looking forward to the premium cinematic experience, customers at Aurum, The Gardens, Mid Valley City can now catch a movie in its Escape Studio halls at only RM90 per Aurum Pass. The Getha Lux Suites in Aurum, The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey, are also now priced at RM120 per Aurum Pass. Aurum Passes offer audiences a ticket to a world of absolute cinematic comfort, complemented with fine food and beverage from Jin Gastrobar.

For those who prefer to wine and dine instead of catching a movie, Jin Gastrobar also offers a wide range of dining options that foodies can enjoy at any time of day. This includes:

    •             Weekly specials with dining sets comprising Jin’s signature dishes and a beverage, priced at RM25 and RM29.90.

    •             Hi-tea sets at RM19 for a selection of sweet desserts and cakes with complimentary coffee or tea, which customers can enjoy with a second drink at 50% off.

    •             Or an all-day Happy Hour, which tipplers can enjoy from as low as RM38 for 3 glasses from a variety of alcoholic beverages including Tiger, Heineken, Guinness Stout, or Karuizawa Craft Beer.
