Zombies are everywhere; including the 19th Century judging by the horror- Jane Austen inspired mash-up, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Starring Lily James and Sam Riley, the film zeroes in on the Bennett sisters who are a pair of corset wearing zombie killers.
But the film will also offer up a splash of romance of sorts with Elizabeth, one of the sisters who forms a romantic entanglement with a gentleman named Mr. Darcy. However it’s not all smooth sailing with tea and crumpets though when a mysterious plague suddenly results in the dead rising from their graves causing untold havoc for the townsfolk.
With such an outlandish premise one can only wonder how this will do once it opens in cinemas but there’s no doubt in anyone’s minds that at least Pride and Prejudice and Zombies has intrigue going for it. That’s not saying it will work though as the last horror movie mash-up—Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter – only delivered modest results at the box-office.
Are you drawn in by the premise of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies or do you think movies like this should never be made in the first place? We’ll find out in a few months when the film hits cinemas in early 2016.
