Disney is reimagining its classic family animated-live action film, Pete’s Dragon for a new modern audience. The film will follow the adventures of a young boy named Pete and his best-friend Elliot, a magical dragon.
The original film was a mixture of animation and live-action, following along the lines of films like Who Framed Roger Rabbit. This time around the reimagined film will see a digitally enhanced dragon instead. According to the synopsis, Pete’s Dragon will revolve around an old wood carver who enthrals local children with stories of a mythical green dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest.
The emergence of a mysterious boy who claims to be living in the woods with a dragon named Elliot soon lends weight to the stories, leading many to believe that the tales aren’t as tall as they were led to believe.
Pete’s Dragon stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Robert Redford and Wes Bentley and is scheduled to open in cinemas end of summer 2016.
