This holiday season, get ready to experience some holiday cheer with Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell. The new Spirited trailer sees the comedic duo team up for the holiday season for Apple TV+. For Ferrell his return to the genre takes place almost twenty years after Elf.
By all accounts, Spirited may well be a holiday classic in its own right, considering Ferrell has co-star Reynolds to help spread the cheer. As seen in the new trailer for Spirited, the film features a number of dance numbers. It also features songs written by Tony Award winners, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.
Spirited is loosely based on Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol. Each Christmas Eve, the Ghost of Christmas Present (Will Ferrell) selects one dark soul to be reformed by a visit from three spirits. But this season, he picked the wrong Scrooge.
Clint Briggs (Ryan Reynolds) turns the tables on his ghostly host until Present finds himself re-examining his own past, present and future. For the first time, ‘A Christmas Carol’ is told from the perspective of the ghosts in this hilarious musical twist on the classic Dickens tale.
Spirited arrives on Apple TV+ on 18 November. Check out the trailer below.
