Astro is introducing local adaptations of U.S. popular family game show, Family Feud, soon in Malaysia. Following a partnership with Fremantle, Astro has initiated production for three versions of ‘Family Feud Malaysia’: firstly, in Bahasa Melayu premiering on Astro Ria (Ch 104), followed by the Tamil version on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202) and thirdly, an English version premiering on PRIMEtime (Ch 704). Popular local hosts, Nabil Ahmad, Dr. J. Ram and Douglas Lim will anchor the respective shows, following the footsteps of American comedian, Steve Harvey.

The Malaysian edition of the game show kicks off with the Team Leads of both teams competing at the podium to answer the first question. The fastest contestant who presses the buzzer will be given the opportunity to answer. If the answer provided is at the top of the list of ‘survey’ responses, that team will proceed to guess the subsequent answers.

Family Feud MalaysiaIf it is not, the opponent team will attempt to guess an answer higher up on the list. Responses listed are based on a survey conducted amongst 100 participants locally. The team with the highest marks will proceed to the fast money round for a chance to take home a cash prize of RM5,000.

Astro has always been a proponent of game shows even creating its own formats like All In To Win and The A Game. This month, Family Feud format will kick off with “Celebrity Family Feud Malaysia” every Monday at 11pm, involving celebrities as captains for their teams.

The game show in Bahasa Melayu will premiere on Astro from 27 March 2023 and air every Monday and Tuesday, at 11pm on Astro Ria (Ch 104). Family Feud Malaysia in Tamil and English will premiere on Astro in May and September 2023 respectively via Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202) and PRIMEtime (Ch 704).

Astro customers can also stream the game show On Demand via the Astro Box and on Astro GO.
