History’s Alone is set to be the boldest and longest survival experiment ever captured for television. Slated to air beginning June 22, the ten-episode series will see ten hard core survivalists fend for themselves in the harsh Vancouver Island wilderness. And they will have to do it all alone without the aid of any aid, or camera crew or producers. If they’re successful, one of them will be taking home a cash prize of USD500, 000 at the end of it all.
The premise of the series is set to be a ground-breaking television event, even more so as History will air Alone as part of a synchronized global TV event in over 200 territories worldwide. In order to give a taste of what audiences can experience in the series, Malaysians were given an opportunity to experience real-life simulation of the wild and untamed jungle via Oculus Rift technology.
Held in Sunway Pyramid on 13 and 14 June, Malaysians were given a chance to experience surviving the wild alone, through an immersive next-generation virtual reality Oculus Rift brought out in 4D. The several minute long experience transported interested fans into a rainforest complete with ambient nature sounds, weather and even animals in order to provide a little taster of what audiences can expect when Alone later in the month.
