Lovers of Korean films will want to keep their calendar clear this November. That’s because the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Malaysia will host the 2023 Korean Film Festival at GSC Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur from 22-26 November.
This year, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the Look East Policy between Korea and Malaysia, five films, “The Front Line” (2011), , “Kai: The Legend of Mirror Lake” (2016), , “Bori” (2018) , “Granny Poetry Club” (2019), “Tunnel” (2016), representing the core values of Korean public diplomacy – “Peace, Freedom, Solidarity and Prosperity” – have been carefully selected.
In the launching ceremony of 2023 Korea Film Festival, the director of “The Lord Musang King,” the first film that co-produced by Korea and Malaysia, will be at presence as a concrete example of close friendship between two countries. This collaboration is significant as it brings together the globally successful Korean film industry with the Malaysian film industry, known for its diverse cultural background and enormous potential.
All film screenings will be free and open to the public. Tickets are on a first-come, first-served basis and are redeemable from 12pm onwards on 16th November 2023 via GSC e-payment (website and mobile app) or GSC ticketing kiosk at GSC Midvalley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur and receive TWO complimentary tickets.
