Disney+ is finally coming to Malaysian shores, with a launch date for the streaming service set for 1 June 2021. The roll-out follows the launch of the service in Singapore in February.
The service from Disney+ Hotstar is priced from RM54.90 for three months. It will include hits from Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, and National Geographic. It will also include Malaysian films and series as well as content from the region.
Subscribers will not just gain access to an extensive catalogue of content from Disney but also Disney+ Originals, which includes exclusive films and series made specifically for the platform. The timing of the launch also coincides with the premiere of the Loki series, which should please Marvel fans.
The service has already premiered WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier this year. With the launch of Disney+, Malaysian fans can catch up with the latest from Marvel Studios as well as the previous films. Disney+ will also premiere the animated series, What If as well as live-action series currently in development such as Hawkeye, Moon Knight, and Ms. Marvel later.
Disney+ Hotstar will also premiere new productions from Disney including Pixar’s Luca as well as the Star Wars animated series, Bad Batch. Malaysian fans can also include local productions such as J2: J Retribusi and Zombitopia on the platform.
