The interest in Star Wars continues to grow and shows little signs of slowing down. With The Mandalorian Season 3 currently in the home stretch of the new season, Disney+ has given fans something else to look forward to in 2023 with the new Ahsoka trailer.
Released during Star Wars celebration, the trailer offers a first look at Ahsoka, the new live-action series. The character of Ahsoka Tano was first introduced to fans in The Clone Wars animated series, and has since gone on to become a fan-favourite.
A former Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, never achieving the level of Jedi. Over the years the character has appeared in other Star Wars franchises, namely the animated series Star Wars Rebels and also as a live-action character in The Mandalorian Season 2 as well as The Book of Boba Fett.
Rosario Dawson brought the character to life in a few of those episodes, and now she will front a new standalone series centred on Ahsoka Tano. As seen in the new trailer, the latest Star Wars series further expands the franchise in many ways. For starters, the character’s link to Rebels is not ignored as we see live-action versions of the characters in the trailer.
Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are playing Sabin Wren and Hera Syndulla respectively. We also see the droid, ‘Chopper’ in a short clip and although missing from the trailer, Ahsoka will also introduce a live-action version of Ezra Bridger played by Eman Esfandi.
Also seen in the new trailer are Baylan, a dark side wielder played by Ray Stevenson and a tease for Grand Admiral Thrawn. For a relative short teaser, there is certainly a lot to pack in for Disney/Lucasfilm’s latest Star Wars series. Fortunately fans don’t have to wait too long as Ahsoka is due to arrive in August 2023. For further details, check out the trailer below.
