Chris Evan sheds his man of action persona for the new romantic action comedy, Ghosted for Apple TV+. In the film, salt-of-the-earth Cole (Chris Evans) falls head over heels for enigmatic Sadie (Ana de Armas).
However after a successful date, he makes the shocking discovery that she’s a secret agent. Before they can decide on a second date, Cole and Sadie are swept away on an international adventure to save the world.
The first look trailer, which you can view below, alludes to an international espionage romp, filled with action sequences. This isn’t the first time, Evans and Armas are sharing the screen in a film. The duo was last seen in the Gray Man, although the roles are quite reversed this time around.
That said, Ghosted does have shades of Mr & Mrs Smith and Romancing The Stone, which isn’t a bad thing. Let’s see this one has the same success as those two classics.
Directed by Dexter Fletcher, the film also stars Adrien Brody, Mike Moh, Amy Sedaris and Tate. Donovan. Written by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers, Ghosted premieres on Apple TV+ on 21 April.
