The movie adaptation to Crossface: The True Story of Wrestling Superstar Chris Benoit, is gathering momentum now with Academy Award nominated filmmaker Lexi Alexander joining the production. The news was made by producers Alex A. Ginzburg and Tony Lee.
The film based on the book, Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit & the Fall of the Pro Wrestling Industry by Matthew Randazzo V, tells the tragic true story of former WWE superstar Chris Benoit. The former multiple time WWE World Champion was at the centre of one of the most controversial and tragic sports stories in history as he murdered his wife and son before taking his own life.
Following an autopsy, the wrestler was diagnosed with CTE, which is a form of severe degeneration as a result of years of performing in the ring. Alexander is a good fit to bring this tragic story to the big screen as she has had a hand with sports films over the years including Green Street Hooligans.
She’s also a former World Karate Kickboxing Champion and an expert in mixed martial arts.
