Tim Burton’s Addams Family live-action spinoff series has cast Oscar-winner Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams. The series currently in development at Netflix will focus on Wednesday Addams.
The show titled; ‘Wednesday’ will reportedly be a supernatural comedy focusing on the character coming of age. It will be set in the Nevermore Academy where Wednesday Addams will try to master her psychic abilities. Jenna Ortega has been cast the titular character of the show.
Zeta-Jones will portray her mom Morticia with Luis Guzmán playing her father Gomez Addams. Burton is producing the series and will also direct the episodes. Anjelica Huston previously portrayed Morticia Addams in the 90s live-action cinema adaptation of the classic 60s series.
Wednesday is currently in development at Netflix. The streamer has not indicated a start date for production or a premiere date as yet.
