Sad news today as Carrie Fisher has passed away at the age of 60. Best known for her portrayal as Princess Leia in the Star Wars films, Fisher was recuperating from a heart attack, which she suffered just before Christmas.
The news will undoubtedly be met with sadness following the large fan base Fisher has garnered due to her work in four Star Wars films. She last appeared on screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, reprising her role as General Leia.
In her addition to her on-screen career, Fisher was also a prolific writer with a number of best-selling books in her name. She also appeared in a number of films throughout her career appearing in movies such as The Blues Brothers and When Harry Met Sally.
Still it will be Star Wars for which she will be most remembered for, where she portrayed the gutsy and brave Princess Leia in A New Hope, which shot her, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill to superstardom in the late 70s.
