With its upcoming release set for March 2019, Disney has released a new TV spot for Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated new film Captain Marvel. There’s not much to shout about in the new teaser spot, except that it does have some new footage squeezed into the 30-second timeframe. The superhero origin story sees Brie Larson star as the titular hero, with the film setting pre-dating the first instalment of Iron Man, which officially kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is being said that Captain Marvel will not only be the most powerful hero in the MCU but will also be the character that leads Marvel into its next phase. Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the centre of the maelstrom. Captain Marvel is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and stars Ben Mendelsohn, Samuel L. Jackson, Clark Gregg, Jude Law, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Algenis Perez Soto, Rune Temte, and McKenna Grace. Captain Marvel is set to fly into cinemas in early March 2019.
