11 years after the phenomenal first series, Frozen Planet II returns with another spellbinding journey through magical icy lands that cover a quarter of our planet. Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, This six-part series explores this vast magical realm and discovers six frozen worlds of surprising variety and nature.
Each frozen world is defined by its own unique set of rules and each raises different challenges for a heroic cast animals who brave the extreme conditions here. From the dramatic turning of the seasons to a new challenge: the impact of climate change.
These frozen worlds are the last true wilderness, so hostile to man that they have been rarely explored – until now. Extensive use of new technology like cutting-edge vessels, submarines and autonomous vehicles have made it possible to take audiences from the frozen Arctic ocean to snowy boreal forests and high-altitude peaks and plateaus.
Racer drones chase avalanches down mountains while remote camera traps document the rarely filmed or photographed secret lives of wild Giant Pandas, Amur leopards and Siberian Tigers in deepest winter.
But these lands are also the fastest-changing part of our planet. They have reached a tipping point where their future hangs in the balance and with it, so does ours. Frozen Planet II is our chance to experience these places as we never will again.
