The news Marvel fans have been dreading has finally been confirmed, Avengers 4 will mark the finale of Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the saying goes all good things must come to an end and apparently, Kevin Feige feels that the final Avengers film could be the fitting bow to tie everything up together.
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Feige had this to say about the direction of the MCU:
“After Avengers 4, an ambitious multi-franchise crossover movie slated for release in 2019, at least some of the original characters who sit at the centre of the billion-dollar Avengers team will be hanging up their capes and shields.”
Many expect that due to contracts ending and also the fact that some of the stars are also ageing, that time could be called on some of the mainstay heroes of the MCU. But whether or not that means that some of our beloved heroes will bite the dust on the big screen remains to be seen.
Some heroes are expected to perish, albeit, likely in heroic and fashionable form but they also could survive and pass the torch unto newer heroes and characters. That way it also paves the way for some of the more established heroes to eventually pop up in cameo appearances in future films.
This of course does not affect future MCU projects and standalone adventures with its new superhero characters.
Still it is still early days for the MCU. But perhaps most will be answered when Avengers: Infinity War finally arrives in cinemas. The final piece of the MCU puzzle, a.k.a. Avengers 4 will arrive on screens in 2019. Its official title has not been revealed as apparently it is a spoiler in itself.
