The wheels of Indiana Jones 5 are moving along quite nicely. Despite star Harrison Ford suffering an on-set injury, the film’s production is going quite nicely. The fifth instalment of the film sees Ford reprising the role of the archaeologist.
Joining him in the new adventure are Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Boyd Holbrook, and Shaunette Renée Wilson. The production has also secured the talents of Antonio Banderas recently. Both Banderas and Ford appeared on screen together in the third Expendables film, so this makes it a reunion of sorts.
No details were given with regards to Banderas’ character or his involvement with the storyline. However he has kept busy with extensive roles in film. He most recently appeared in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. He is also reprising his role in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, lending his voice to the beloved animated character. He also portrayed famous painter Picasso in National Geographic’s Genius series.
Indiana Jones 5 marks the fifth time Ford is playing the character. It is impressive undoubtedly, especially as he first played the character four decades ago. He last portrayed the character in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008. Let’s hope this next outing is more memorable.
Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled for release in late July 2022.
