Star Wars is relevant again and it’s about to be the biggest film this year. Knowing full well the film franchise will not only enthral fans and grow new ones as well, Star Wars: The Force Awakens will not only set the box-office on fire but it’s also on course to be Hollywood’s most lucrative and endorsed film.
Case in point, we’ve begun to see numerous tie-ups and co-branded merchandising campaigns already being held but by far All Nippon Airways may have executed the best Star Wars collaboration yet. And the photo above is proof of that.
All Nippon Airways has announced today it will introduce Star Wars livery with the iconic R2-D2 on its newest aircraft 787-9 Dreamliner to mark the beginning of a five-year ANA Star Wars project and agreement with The Walk Disney Company (Japan) Ltd.
This marks the first time a Star Wars character will appear on the exterior of a commercial aircraft. The R2-D2 design was unveiled to Star Wars fans recently at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California, just months prior to the character’s appearance on international flights in autumn of this year.
