Although there were some initial gripes about Will Smith’s genie, the second Aladdin trailer seems to have rectified that issue. That said, it looks like Guy Ritchie’s live-action remake of the beloved animated movie is a frame by frame replication. That however could be the best possible move to ensure a healthy box-office return.
A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, Aladdin is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future.
The new Aladdin trailer sees Ritchie’s singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action come to life in the fictitious port city of Agrabah. The trailer also reveals the main players of the film namely Mena Massoud as Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar; Navid Negahban as the Sultan; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia; Billy Magnussen as Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim.
Aladdin arrives in cinemas in end May 2019.
