“Survive as a team. Or die alone.” The tagline for the action thriller Plane starring Gerard Butler and Mike Colter alludes to the team up for the ages. Billed as a cross between Con-Air and Die Hard, the movie is from the producers of Angel Has Fallen and Greenland.
In the action film Plane, pilot Brodie Torrance (Gerard Butler) saves his passengers from a lightning strike by making a perilous landing on a war-torn island, only to discover that surviving the landing was only the beginning.
When the majority of the passengers are kidnapped by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can rely on for assistance is Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), an accused murderer being transported by the FBI. Torrance will need Gaspare’s assistance to rescue the passengers, and he will discover that there is more to Gaspare than meets the eye.
Director Jean-François Richet is at the helm of this gritty action-thriller. The pulse-pounding film is also supported by Yoson An, Daniella Pineda, Paul Ben-Victor, Remi Adeleke, Joey Slotnick, Evan Dane Taylor, Claro de los Reyes, and Tony Goldwyn.
The story for Plane originated with an idea from Scottish novelist Charles Cumming, the esteemed author of the spy thrillers Box 88 and The Man Between, among others. Distributed by TGV Pictures, Plane by Lionsgate Pictures will be landing in cinemas on January 12, 2023.
