History, A+E Networks Asia’s leading factual channel, joins in the national celebration of Malaysia’s 59th independence. The programming initiative aligns with the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia’s vision to inspire nationalism among Malaysians. Brand new History Asia Original Productions, featuring Malaysian-produced specials will premiere on History, Astro CH 555 and HD CH 575 from 29th August.
The month’s celebration will be ignited with the premiere of History Asia’s two one-hour specials, produced in Malaysia. First, ‘10 Things We Love About Malaysians’, hosted by comedian Douglas Lim, explores the funny, unique side of Malaysians, while the nostalgic ‘Every Street Tells a Story’ goes in search of the stories behind popular street names in Kuala Lumpur. Premiering on 4th and 11th September respectively, at 10pm, these programmes form part of the channel’s broader range of Negara-ku Specials.
“With three original series and two specials launching in August and September, we have packed History with a plethora of original, locally-produced content,” said Michele Schofield, Senior Vice President, Programming and Production, A+E Networks Asia.
“We hope that our viewers may deepen their connection and understanding of our diverse continent, heritage and people through these engaging and entertaining series. We are equally excited to bring brand new Malaysian-made originals to the History Asia audience in celebration of Negara-ku,”
