Patty Jenkins’ adaptation of Wonder Woman seems to be going along rather smoothly indeed. The new set photos reveal the Amazon warrior in full glory and she’s never looked better. Brought to life by actress Gal Gadot, the character was one of the standouts from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
With her scene-stealing role, fans can’t get enough of Wonder Woman, and hopefully this standalone adventure will deliver more insight to the colourful backstory of the character. There is also a possibility that the film will somehow tie-in into the Justice League film as well, which is currently in production.
Along with the warrior princess showcasing her fighting talents, the new photo is also accompanied with another showcasing co-star Chris Pine alongside Wonder Woman. Early indications have put the film’s timeline during World War 1, which ties into the comic book timeline of the character.
Pine is playing American pilot, Steve Trevor who crash lands on the mystical island and slowly forms a bond with Princess Diana. Convincing her to put her powers to end conflict, the warrior leaves her home and fights alongside man in a war to end all wars.
Wonder Woman comes to cinemas, June 2017 and also stars Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, and Saïd Taghmaoui.
