The recent ‘DC Films Presents the Dawn of the Justice League’ TV special showcased exclusive footage from the upcoming standalone Wonder Woman film directed by Patty Jenkins. Despite only showing bits and pieces, the clip does provide fans an idea of the direction of the film and its timeline, which looks to be set across World War 1 for the most part.
The clip shows a fair amount of action and it looks to delve into the character of Wonder Woman and her adventures with the world of man. Evidently as teased by the set photos, parts of the movie will be based during 1930s/40s with the Amazon princess joining the alliance to fight against the Germans.
From the initial tone of the film, it seems Jenkins has settled on a rather dark grainy look, which does compliment the film. It also shows Gal Gadot in her full Amazonian regalia, physically taking out the baddies. For a first look, it’s certainly not bad at all.
Wonder Woman also stars Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Connie Nielsen, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, and Lucy Davis and is set to open in cinemas, June 2017.
