In 2012, Quentin Tarantino and Vertigo Comics released a Django/Zorro comic book, which served as a direct follow-up to Django Unchained. The book continued the story of Django, who was brought to life by Jamie Foxx in the Tarantino western.
The story though becomes unique in its own way when the character crosses paths with Zorro, resulting in both men ‘teaming-up’ for a special mission. The story itself is appealing as it links two iconic western characters and now it’s being reported that the Django/Zorro story may well be turned into a big screen adaptation.
Recent reports claim that Tarantino is working on a possible big screen adaptation for Django/Zorro, which could serve as a direct sequel to Django Unchained. The prospect of seeing this story come to life is indeed intriguing and it was something that Sony was apparently discussing prior to their infamous hack.
Still it remains to be seen if this one comes to fruition or if Tarantino will step behind the camera to put it all together. The director has famously said he intends to retire after his tenth film and with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, his latest effort, serving as his ninth, one wonders if he will go out with a bang with Django/Zorro.
