QUENTIN TARANTINO TALKS RETIREMENT
Back in 2012, Quentin Tarantino announced he was looking to retire after completing ten films and now, with The Hateful Eight being his eighth; could we see just two more flicks from the talented director? “It’s not etched in stone, but that is the plan. If I get to the tenth, do a good job and don’t screw it up, well that sounds like a good way to end the old career,” said Tarantino in a recent interview. “If, later on, I come across a good movie – I won’t not do it just because I said I wouldn’t. But ten and done, leaving them wanting more, that sounds right.” Let’s see what he can dish out in the remaining two and then we’ll start a petition.
PINEWOOD GETS STAR WARS SPIN-OFF
We still don’t know which Star Wars character is going to get his/her/its own solo adventure but there’s already a production studio being locked down. According to Pinewood Studios, London, the Star Wars spin-off is set to begin shooting at their Shepperton Location. This news comes following last week’s announcement that Star Wars: The Force Awakens has officially wrapped, which now paves the way for Lucasfilm and Disney to focus its attention on the next Star Wars chapter.
JOHNSON AND HART TEAM-UP
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and Kevin Hart will be teaming-up for the action comedy, Central Intelligence from New Line. The film will reportedly focus on a CIA operative who winds up recruiting an old high school classmate for a top secret mission. Both Johnson and Hart made the announcements of their new upcoming project on their Twitter and Instagram pages. According to reports, Ed Helms is also on board the project as Executive Producer.
AN AUNT MAY MOVIE?
We’re going to notch this one up as a heavy rumour (we hope). Sony, who’s evidently grasping at straws with its Spider-Man property was rumoured to be looking into an Aunt May standalone film. Yes, Aunt May – Peter Parker’s legal guardian. It’s been reported that the movie will be a prequel, which explains the history of Aunt May and Ben Parker, and it will be rooted in espionage and based in the 60s. We’re hoping this news doesn’t come to fruition.
