Ragnar Lothbrok and his warriors will call it a day when Vikings ends with the sixth and final season in 2020. History is looking to wrap the series with a final run of 20 episodes, which will begin later this year.
Vikings has been an impressive hit for the channel, as it told the story of Ragnar played by Travis Fimmel and the saga surrounding the character’s family. However this doesn’t mean that Vikings has set sailed for good as History is also looking at a potential spinoff for the series, which could be spearheaded by creators Michael Hirst and Jeb Stuart.
Currently History has several scripted projects lined up and due for release in the coming year. There’s Project Blue Book, produced by Robert Zemeckis, which focuses on UFO investigations. History is also gearing up for the new season of the medieval series, Knightfall.
