Sony’s big screen adaptation of Unchartered has run into an unforeseen delay following the departure of director Travis Knight. The director who previously helmed Bumblebee will not direct the video game adaptation starring Tom Holland due to scheduling issues.
Holland who will portray Nathan Drake in the film is currently also focusing on a third Spider-Man film, co-produced by Marvel and Sony. Mark Wahlberg will co-star as Drake’s mentor, Sully. It is said that Holland’s commitment with Spider-Man is the main issue why Sony has pushed the production of Unchartered back.
The next Spider-Man film is due to begin production in summer 2020.
