It’s no secret that another Transformers film is in the works, and this is despite the last film, Transformers: Age of Extinction being critically panned. But with over USD1 billion at the box-office, it makes sense to continue the lucrative franchise with Michael Bay at the helm. Whether we like it or not.
Now a new rumour has surfaced that could see audiences transported back to Cybertron, the Autobots and Decepticons home planet for a Transformers prequel prequel. According various reports, Paramount Pictures has assembled a writing team to pen the story behind the proposed prequel.
If these reports are indeed true, then there is a possibility that Transformers 5 may be indefinitely shelved to make way for this prequel treatment. It would also mean this is one film that could be entirely CGI-generated without any human actors at all. Michael Bay however is expected to return to direct the film. The director is currently busy filming the Benghazi thriller, 13 Hours.
