It’s been nearly two decades since Pixar Animation Studios created the world’s first computer-animated feature film with Toy Story. And now, it’s going back to its tried and tested box of toys for another adventurous run.
That’s right folks, Toy Story 4 has been officially greenlit by Pixar and Disney and they’re expecting the animated film to hit theatres in summer 2017. Not much is known about the direction of the new film but Disney has tapped Rashida Jones and Will McCormack to write the Toy Story 4 screenplay.
John Lasseter, director of the original Toy Story and Toy Story 2, will direct the film, which opens a new chapter in the lives of Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the Toy Story gang. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack are expected to return for this fourth instalment to the franchise.
Toy Story 4 is slated for a summer 2017 release.
