Despite lacklustre ratings and interest, HBO is gearing up for a third season of True Detective. The series was an immense success when it first aired featuring Matthew McConnaughey and Woody Harrelson. However season 2 with Colin Firth, Vince Vaughn and Rachel McAdams did not fare as well and many speculated HBO would be pulling the plug on the series. However, it seems that the channel is now gearing up for a third season with TV veteran David Milch stepping in to produce the series.
Sony Expands Marvel Properties
With superhero flicks being such a hot property in today’s movie market, fans are seeing numerous properties being adapted for the big screen. Sony is putting its back into the genre with a Spider-Man reboot scheduled this summer and they’re expanding their universe too with films based on Black Cat and Silver Sable as well as a Venom movie. Although the former could be tied into the Spidey-verse, rumours are rampant that Venom could be branching off into its own territory with an R-rating, signifying a grittier treatment for the anti-hero.
Return Of The Black Canary
No one really stays dead on television especially when there’s a time travel and multi-verse equation being introduced. This is why a beloved character from Arrow is making her return to the series. Katie Cassidy who portrayed The Black Canary is making her official return to The CW series. But she won’t be playing Laurel Lance but her Earth 2 doppelganger, The Black Siren. She previously guest starred in Season 5 of the series in an episode, which could lead on to her big return in Arrow S6.
Wreck-It-Ralph Breaks The Internet
Disney has officially announced the title for its Wreck-It-Ralph sequel. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is the officially title for the follow-up to the hit animated film. Judging by the title it would seem that the titular hero is escaping the arcade and into the realm of the internet.The voice cast is expected to return including John C. Reilly, Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 is expected to open in cinemas in March 2018.
John Cena Is Ferdinand
WWE superstar John Cena is slowly branching off into Hollywood with a number of projects. But in between his packed schedule in and out of the ring, Cena has found time to voice the lead character in DreamWorks animated feature, Ferdinand. The film is based around a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Ferdinand romps its way into cinemas in December 2017.
