Fresh off its stellar reboot of sorts on Netflix, the Voltron franchise has indeed caught a second wind. Now it seems that Universal Pictures is ready to pull the trigger on a live-action Voltron Movie based on the animated series. Whether or not the production sees the light of day will depend on how both the new Transformers film and Power Rangers manage at the box-office. The Voltron Movie is currently in development but the second season of the animated series is due to air on Netflix at the end of January 2017.

Rami Malek Is Freddie Mercury
It looks as if Mr. Robot star, Rami Malek will take on the mantle of one of the most iconic artistes of all time. According to reports, Malek will portray Freddie Mercury in the long-gestating biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody with Bryan Singer being scouted for the director’s seat. The production has been facing a number of obstacles as of late following the departure of Sacha Baron Cohen from the film.

The Simpsons Renewed

Fox made the announcement, which has effectively made the show the longest running scripted series in US television history. With the two new seasons, The Simpsons will best Gunsmoke as the longest running television series. The animated series created by Matt Groening started in 1989, after it drew a following as a short on The Tracy Ullman Show.

Mission: Impossible 6 Set For 2018
MI5_3It looks like we’ll be seeing more of secret agent, Ethan Hunt with a new Mission: Impossible movie being planned for release in summer 2018. Tom Cruise will return to reprise his role supposedly alongside Rebecca Ferguson who appeared in Rogue Nation. Also returning to the director’s seat is Christopher McQuarrie however no further casting details or synopsis has been revealed as yet. Mission: Impossible 6 is expected to begin production sometime early 2017.

Michael Keaton Is The Vulture
It looks like Michael Keaton is set to add another superhero movie to his credentials with a role in Spider-Man: Homecoming. According to a recent interview, Marvel Films head honcho, Kevin Feige confirmed that Keaton will indeed portray long time Spidey villain, the Vulture in the Marvel/Sony movie. Disney Channel starlet, Zendaya has also joined the production, reportedly portraying Peter Parker’s love interest in the film.
