It looks like there will be more Hunger Games movies coming our way with the announcement that a prequel book series is due to arrive in 2020. Following this announcement, Lionsgate has announced that its already planning a film adaptation of the book, which will tell the story of Panem set roughly 60 plus years before the story of Katniss. Suzanne Collins is penning the book, which will be released in May 2020. The Hunger Games franchise has been a massive box-office hit for Lionsgate will all four films raking well over USD600 million each.

Landmark Deal For Bad Robot
J.J Abrams’ production company, Bad Robot is set to land a massive deal with Warner Media. According to the new deal, the production company will develop content for film, TV and digital platforms for Warner. The deal, which is in the final negotiations stage is reportedly worth USD500 million. Abrams’ Bad Robot has spearheaded a number of franchises over the years including Star Wars, Star Trek and Mission: Impossible as well. It will be interesting to see what the brains at the production company create for Warner in the near future.

The Many Saints of Newark Wraps Production
The Sopranos’ prequel film, The Many Saints of Newark has officially wrapped production in New Jersey. The news was shared by cast members Michael Gandolfini, Alessandro Nivola, and Michela De Rossi. The film is set decades before the hit HBO series, telling the story of Dickie Moltisanti, the father of Christopher Moltisanti in the series and a young Tony Soprano, played by the son of the late James Gandolfini. The Many Saints of Newark is set for a September 2020 release.

Joker Movie Confirmed For R-Rating
It looks like Todd Philips’ standalone Joker movie will get an R rating. The director confirmed the news via social media. Not much is known about the new film except that it’s taking the character into a whole new direction. More cerebral in nature, the film may explore the relationship between Arthur Fleck and his mother. Joaquin Phoenix will bring the Clown Prince of Crime to life on the big screen. The Joker movie will arrive in cinemas this October.

Filming Begins For Game of Thrones Prequel Series
Get ready to return to Westeros! It looks like HBO is keen to capitalise on the fervour behind its recently-concluded fantasy series. The dust has barely settled on the final episode of GoT and already there are reports that production is quietly starting on a new prequel series.  Apparently the new production will be a pilot episode that takes places years before the creation of the Iron Throne. The pilot will reportedly air sometime next year, which should be ample time for fans to get hungry for more GoT adventures.
