The first set photo from the upcoming DC/Warner Bros. standalone Wonder Woman film has surfaced and it shows co-stars Saïd Taghmaoui and Chris Pine in costume. Judging by their threads it would appear both actors are World War II soldiers or citizens, which sort of confirms speculation that Pine is indeed playing Wonder Woman’s long time love interest, Steve Trevor. This could also mean that Wonder Woman could take place across several time periods. Wonder Woman is set to hit cinemas in 2017.

Scott Adkins Joins Doctor Strange
scott_adkinsAction star Scott Adkins is set to join Marvel’s Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch in an unspecified role. According to reports, the actor could be tapping into his vast action movie background by featuring in several major action scenes in the movie. Adkins has pedalled his trade in a number in direct-to-video movies with his last major turn being Jean Claude Van Damme’s henchman in The Expendables 2. Production on Doctor Strange is already underway; the film also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Mads Mikkelsen, and Tilda Swinton.

Fast and Furious Spin-Offs
furious_7_rockIt’s no secret that Furious 8 is set to close out the final trilogy for the series but Universal is already gearing up the franchise to continue with a number of spin-offs. “We’ve written out story lines for various characters. We’ve been playing with it for a long time. It’s a very rich property and we’re committed to treating it with a lot of class,” said franchise star Vin Diesel in a recent interview with Variety. There’s speculation that Dwayne Johnson’s Hobbs character could helm one of the spin-offs for the series but for now Universal is intent on focusing its efforts on the eighth film, which is slated to hit cinemas in early Summer 2017.

Val Kilmer In Top Gun 2?
iceman1Of all the long-gestating projects in Hollywood at the moment, Top Gun 2 is by far the most talked about. But with Tom Cruise nowhere near starting the project due to his numerous commitments, original co-star Val Kilmer chimed in on the subject with a recent Facebook post. “I just got offered ‪#‎topgun2 – not often you get to say “yes” without reading the script…” said Kilmer who portrayed Iceman in the classic. Will the actor reprise his role as Maverick’s former arch-nemesis or did the actor jump the proverbial gun in making the announcement?

First Look: Central Intelligence
central_inteligenceDwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart partner up in this Warner Bros. buddy-cop action comedy from director Rawson Marshall Thurber. Central Intelligence will see Johnson portray a CIA operative who has to enlist the help of his high-school classmate to help clear his name. Judging by the first picture release, it would seem that both actors are sticking true to their type casted roles with Johnson portraying the action star mould and Hart providing the comedic element to the film.
