The Han Solo spinoff project is now moving forward at light speed with the addition of Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian. According to latest reports, the Community star will take on the character made famous by Billy Dee Williams in Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. The Han Solo spinoff stars Alden Ehrenreich as the titular character and it will be an origin based story. The film is scheduled for release in 2018.

The Walking Dead Season 8
Good news for fans of The Walking Dead because the series has now been renewed for another season. AMC has given the go-ahead for another run following stellar ratings the show has been receiving. With this latest development, fans will get to see the show air its 100th episode by the time the eighth season rolls around. The Walking Dead Season 7 airs this week and it will kick-off with the revelation of which member of Rick’s crew finds the wrong end of Negan’s bat.

FX and Marvel have released the first teaser for Legion, the X-Men spinoff series. Legion follows David Haller, a troubled young man who may be more than human. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he hears and visions might be real. Legion debuts in early 2017 and is produced by FX Productions and Marvel Television.

Willy Wonka Reboot In The Works
willy_wonka_wilderRoald Dahl’s beloved novel, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is set to be rebooted at Warner Bros. The studio recently acquired the rights to the book from Dahl’s estate as is set to be an origins treatment featuring key characters from the book and film. The novel was previously made into a film in 1971, which starred the late Gene Wilder and an updated 2005 film directed by Tim Burton with Johnny Depp in the lead. The project is being developed as a potential franchise at Warner Bros.

New Role For Tom Hardy
Looks like Tom Hardy has a new role in the works and its one that’s rooted in history. Hardy is set to play legendary polar explorer Sir Ernest Shackleton who led three British expeditions to the Antarctic. Studio Canal is behind the production and it will focus on his life on exploring the Antarctic region. Previously, Shackleton’s life was brought to life in a 2002 television film, which starred Kenneth Branagh.
